Though some of you are already aware, we know many of you did not yet know that we now have a new technical support person for issues with the CBPCA Certified HERS Registry and document registration. And so we want to introduce you to him……

Stan joined the HERS staff this past September, and he has been a welcome addition. We feel Stan is very attentive to the raters’ needs and always responds to calls within a day. We are delighted to have him on board!

Stan spent over 36 years working for the state, first for the CDF and then Caltrans. After his firefighting years he moved into highway maintenance as a large equipment operator, later promoted to Lead Worker and then Supervisor. His last 10 years he worked in Hazmat Response and in the Storm Water program out of the Fresno District 6 office and managed a 4 million dollar budget. Having acquired some HVAC experience along the way, he decided to take the CBPCA HERS Rater Basic Training, rather than simply retire.

Says Stan, “I started my HERS Rater career in June 2010 and have enjoyed every moment. I took over the tech support position in September 2011 and have really enjoyed working with the CBPCA HERS team along with all the raters and contractors. It has been a challenge and a learning experience for me.  One thing I always tell people is — if I don’t know the answer, I know where to find it.”

As of April 7th ,2010, the CBPCA is approved by the California Energy Commission as a HERS Providership for additions and alterations. This certification includes oversight by the Enalasys Third Party Quality Control Program which allows contractors to opt for a verification sampling group ratio of 1 in 30 rather than the standard 1 in 7.
