CBPCA HERS Providership Update

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: CHANGE OF *OWNERSHIP
*(USERA is managing daily operations as of December 1, 2012, however, the Providership Certification still remains with the CBPCA pending the CEC’s official approval of USERA’s application for certification.)
The CBPCA has completed an agreement to sell the CBPCA HERS Providership business division to U.S. Energy Raters Association (USERA). USERA will take over
management of the providership on December 1st, 2012. The CBPCA organization will continue Home Performance and BPI operations under its new name, Efficiency First California, and will focus on coordinating efforts to promote the interests of home performance contractors in California.
We are happy to announce that many of the CBPCA HERS staff will stay in place at the providership. We anticipate that raters will see very little difference in the day-to-day operations of the providership during this transition to USERA.
USERA has big plans to revamp and expand the HERS registry, which will include enhanced features and functionality to make the registry faster and simpler to use. Most importantly, Don Charles, the Executive Director of USERA has assured us that he and his staff intend to continue the long-held policies of the CBPCA to provide the most rater-friendly and cost effective HERS providership services in the industry.
